Originally built in 1850 The Fisherman's Cape has views of the harbor and has private shore access. Facing west, guests can catch phenomenal sunset views nightly and enjoy the water access. Kayak, fish, and paddle board in the sheltered harbor (just across the harbor is Thurston's Lobster Pound and dock—an easy kayak!). The cottage is just minutes to several Acadia attractions, like the Bass Harbor Headlight, Ships Harbor, Wonderland, and Sea Wall picnic area. Just down the road is the Swan's Island Ferry—a fun day trip with bikes. And you're just a 7 minute drive to the village of Southwest Harbor for shopping and fine dining! The spacious deck is great for BBQing and dining. The elegant cottage features two levels. On the main level is the gorgeous chef's kitchen, living room, dining room and full bathroom. The second floor features 2 queen bedrooms, a bedroom with two twin beds and a bedroom with a single twin. There is also a bathroom with copper tub (and hand-held sprayer) on the 2nd floor. Total sleeping capacity is 7 guests. Amenities include excellent WIFI service, cable TVs, dishwasher, washer/dryer, gas BBQ, A/C units on first floor and in queen bedrooms (cooling fan in single twin room). There is also a Level 2, 40 amp EV Charger for guests, that can be accessed via APP provided by owner. Walk down to the shore by taking the shore path/road over to the right of the cottage, and is shared with neighboring Gray Barn Carriage House. There are several Acadia hiking trails within a few minutes drive from the cottage, as well as the Seawall Picnic area. The closest entrance to Acadia's Park Loop Road is about a 25 minute drive (Cadillac Mountain entrance).
